Skin Rejuvenation in Abbotsford

Skin rejuvenation for Abbotsford clients: IPL photofacial, microneedling, Morpheus8, CO2 and more, compared by concern, downtime and skin tone.

Our skin rejuvenation treatments even out tone, smooth texture and firm the skin. The right one depends on three things: your main concern, how much downtime you can take, and your skin tone. Compare the options below.

Find Your Treatment by Concern

IPL Photofacial in Abbotsford

Our IPL photofacial clears sun spots and redness in the same treatment. Pulses of broad-spectrum light are absorbed by brown pigment and by the red in small blood vessels, and treated spots darken and then flake off within about a week.

  • Treats: sun spots, age spots, freckles, facial redness, rosacea and broken capillaries.
  • Typical course: 3 to 5 sessions, 3 to 4 weeks apart.
  • Maintenance: 1 to 2 sessions a year.

IPL and Darker Skin

IPL works best on Fitzpatrick skin types I to III: light to medium skin. On darker skin (types IV to VI), or on melasma, it can cause dark patches or make discolouration worse. About 30% of Abbotsford residents are South Asian (2021 Census), so for medium-deep and deep skin we use treatments that don’t rely on light targeting pigment:

  • Microneedling for texture and dark marks
  • Morpheus8 for scars and firmness
  • PicoSure Pro for pigment and dark marks

Laser Skin Rejuvenation in Abbotsford

Three of our options use light or laser energy: IPL for spots and redness, LaseMD Ultra for brightness and tone with little downtime, and CO2 laser, our strongest resurfacing treatment for deep lines and scars, with the longest recovery. Microneedling, Venus Viva and Morpheus8 work through collagen stimulation and radiofrequency instead of light.

Best Time to Start

Light and laser treatments need skin that isn’t tanned, and treated skin needs protection while it heals. Abbotsford’s clearest, sunniest weather runs from mid-June to the end of September, so fall and winter are the best time to start IPL or a laser series. Sun spots treated in winter also have the whole cloudy season to clear before summer sun returns.

Combining Treatments

Many plans pair one treatment for tone, such as IPL or LaseMD Ultra, with one for texture or firmness, such as microneedling or Morpheus8. We set the order and spacing so each has time to work.

Cost

Price depends on the treatments in your plan and the number of sessions. You’ll get exact pricing at your consultation, before you book anything.

Skin Rejuvenation Abbotsford FAQs

It depends on your concern. Sun spots and redness on lighter skin: IPL. Texture and scars: microneedling. Firmness: Morpheus8. Deep lines, if you can take time off: CO2 laser.

Usually 3 to 5, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, then 1 to 2 maintenance sessions a year.

We don’t use IPL on melasma, because it can make it worse.

LaseMD Ultra has little to none. For a no-downtime facial, see HydraFacial .
